The leftmost (as you look at it) star in Orion's Belt, Alnitak. Single shot image, No processing. There's a lot there, just burring in the black, near black, almost black, still looks black. The image is saved in 8bit format; that's 256 shades or red from darkest to brightess. the camera is 14bit, that's 16k shades of red alone.
Taken with a type of red filter that focuses on a specific wavelength, emitted by excited hydrogen, which is why the star is the color it is. 5 minute exposure.
